THe cirque Via Ferrata

University of Denver, James C. Kennedy Mountain Campus - Red Feather Lakes, CO

The Challenge

The Univerity of Denver wanted a via ferrata on par with the best routes in Europe and the US.  The scale and beauty of the site beckoned a world-class cabled route that would maximize the diversity of terrain, the steep vertical walls, and stunning ridgelines.

The Opportunity

1,170 feet of cable-protected climbing in The Cirque offers jaw-dropping views and adrenaline-pumping ascents for every kind of adventurer. Climbers test their mettle on the steep 100-foot black diamond “headwall,” a formidable challenge that will likely push even experienced climbers to their limits.

The Challenge

The Univesity of Denver wanted a via ferrata that was an ideal level adventure for all skill levels.  It needed to be a thrilling introduction to via ferrata, but with enough “wow factors” to create a memorable experience for novices and seasoned climbers alike.

The Opportunity

Via Ferrata Works designed and built a 600 ft of cable-protected climbing with an emphasis on the tranquility of Cliff Lake’s scenic beauty. The summet offers breathtaking 360-degree views showcasing the natural splendor of Roosevelt National Forest.

For those looking to take their experience to the next level, we work Leahy Associates to create  an optional 100-foot-long challenge course aerial crossing featuring multiple elements that tests teamwork and communication skills of climbing groups. It’s an opportunity to overcome obstacles together and forge stronger connections.
